2015 Fall Favorites
Disclaimer to this post: It's kinda sorta really long. If you're not in the mood for a fashion novel, I suggest just getting out while you still can. If you are interested in reading and viewing a lot, then welcome! Please, stay awhile.
2015 seriously came and went so quick. This last fall was one of the busiest seasons of life I've been in yet. I had so many photos taken of the season's favorite looks with great hopes of posting them all as individual blog posts. With being so wrapped up in life, I only posted some of the many many outfit posts I could've done. So, I've decided to post a few pictures from each of those shoots as a recap of this last falls favorite looks! Hoping this gives you all some inspiration to shake up your potentially-stale winter wardrobe. Okay. Ready, set, let's go.
I remember this as such a beautiful day. I met up with someone for the first time who I now am lucky to call a friend. Sami and I sat at a coffee shop, gave each other a glimpse into the lives that we led, and then wandered down to take some photos. It started pouring rain (hence the wet frizzy hair), so we hopped under the nearest bridge for a bit before running back to our cars, damp from the sprinkling fall rain.
One Sunday after church Joel and I decided to go get donuts at Angel Food Bakery (which, if you're local and in the Minneapolis area, is a must try) and ended up wandering around to snap some pics. This outfit is one that I love because it combines some of my most favorite, staple pieces to create a different look than the way these pieces are usually styled.
This was seriously a constant go to look for me this fall. Every single part of this outfit is so comfy, while still looking put together. I would wear this outfit to work, to run errands, to hangout with friends, or on casual date nights. Once I also switched out the shoes for more of a heel to give it a dressier feel for a dinner date, and loved that look too! Such an all around "can't-go-wrong" type of outfit.
I absolutely adore the denim on denim look, but never felt like I would be able to pull it off. This particular fall day, it was chilly enough for a jacket over my sweater. After having already gotten dressed, I just decided to throw the denim jacket on over it all and ended up loving the look it created. I duplicated the denim on denim multiple more times in the next few weeks while it was warm enough that I could still get by with just a jean jacket for a coat. Such a fun look!
This turtleneck probably became one of my favorite sweaters of the whole season. It's so comfy, and the color was different than most things I usually gravitated towards, which made it fun for me to style. The black jacket was my favorite to throw over any look to complete it. This outfit was one that I definitely fell back on multiple times when staring at the closet wondering what to wear that day.
When the temps start to drop, I am all about cozy cozy cozy. This particular outfit was my version of channeling the inner grandpa in me. Cable knit sweater with elbow patches, and fuzzy socks. Definitely a must-have.
Ohhhhh, remember that one time I had silver hair? Well in case you forgot, here it is. Silver was a color I had always wanted to try on my hair, and after the white I had previously done was fading and needing to be redone, I decided just to go for the silver. I loved how different it was, and loved the edgy unique look that it had. It was fun, because in some lights it had a purple tint, and in some a blue tint. I loved the risk that coloring it was, since I had never really explored out of the world of blondes. After about a week I decided it wasn't totally for me, mainly because it just didn't make me feel like me. That being said, I'm so glad I tried it. I am always open to trying new things, and not someone that gets stressed about hair at all. So, going into the process I was so excited to see how it turned out. I decided just to let it fade, which turned out to be a white/silver color and then eventually all back to white. You'll be able to see the beginning stages of that in the pictures below.
Looking back at these pictures has me feeling so nostalgic for the warm air of the fall season. Both this jacket and vest were favorites of mine this season. I loved being able to throw them over the top of an outfit and be able to complete the outfit without the weight a huge winter jacket. As you can see here, I changed the top layer and shoes, and created a totally different outfit with such a different feel. These pants are also a favorite pair of mine. I love the rips in the jeans for an edgy flair, yet they're still black so they can be worn with so many things, in so many different ways.
Let's just say this. A girl can never go wrong with a leather jacket and chunky scarf. My leather jacket is one piece that I fail to pull out as often as I should. Whenever I wear it I love it, it just isn't one that I think of as often. I love the edgy feel that the black leather gives, mixed with the combination of the softness the scarf adds to this look. Perfect for chilly wet days in the city, grabbing coffee with friends, and tackling errands. I like to think of this one as sophisticated-chic meets girl-from-the-city.
By this point you're probably wondering... When is this chic gonna be done. How many posts could she seriously have neglected this long?! Going through these I'm asking myself the same question! I don't even think I was fully aware of how many posts I skipped until laying them all out and seeing how many times I never got around to actually blogging these looks. Talk about procrastination at it's finest. Feels so good to get them all up! Each of these outfits were go-to's for me this last fall season. Fall fashion has to be one of my favorites, and I'm slightly missing it while looking through all of these. I guess I'll just embrace the scarfs, socks, hats, and being bundled up in any possible way before it's gone! Go drink some hot coffee and cozy up, because the spring fever to be outside 24/7 will be here before you know it.
Hoping you guys enjoyed paging through all these different looks. I know I sure loved creating them, and finally blogging them all has been so fun. If you made it to the bottom of this, you are a trooper! Challenge yourself to see how many of these fall-styled looks you can transition into winter outfits. Here's the mid-winter inspiration you might be needing if you're feeling stuck in a rut of all your usuals. Happy styling babes!
